H.E. Hendrik Van de Velde, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Belgium to Ankara, and the accompanying delegation visited our Institute on Monday, 26 January. During the visit, discussions were held on enhancing existing cooperation between Türkiye and Belgium in the fields of space research and space technologies, as well as on strengthening the exchange of knowledge and experience. The delegation, led by the Ambassador of Belgium to Ankara, included representatives of the Embassy as well as trade commissioners representing the Walloon, Flemish, and Brussels regions, reflecting Belgium’s federal structure. The meeting provided an opportunity to explore potential areas of cooperation between the two countries’ space ecosystems.

The delegation was received by the TÜBİTAK UZAY’s management. As part of the program, comprehensive information was shared regarding the projects carried out by our Institute. The presentation highlighted our capabilities in satellite systems design and development, ongoing R&D activities in space technologies, and our experience in international cooperation.

The discussions focused on potential joint projects, R&D collaborations, and industry-driven partnership models in the field of space technologies. The visit was considered a constructive and productive engagement, contributing to the strengthening of dialogue and future cooperation between Türkiye and Belgium in the space domain.
