Signatures were signed with Axiom Space in Paris, the capital of France, for Turkey's first manned space mission. Minister of Industry and Technology Mustafa Varank announced the important development on his social media account. Minister Varank said, "We signed a historic agreement for the first manned space mission that we will realize in the 100th year of our Republic. We will cooperate with Axiom Space for the training and flight service of the Turkish space traveler, whose selection process continues. Dreams turn into pride with the National Space Program."

Axiom Space will provide training and flight services to Turkey as part of Turkey's efforts to expand its space exploration capabilities and establish a national manned space program. The company will also enable Turkish space travelers to conduct scientific research in zero gravity.

At the International Space Congress held in France, signatures were signed between TÜBİTAK UZAY and Axiom Space.

Deputy Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır, AK Party Ankara Deputy Zeynep Yıldız, Axiom Space CEO Michael Suffredini, Turkish Space Agency (TUA) President Serdar Hüseyin Yıldırım, TÜBİTAK UZAY Institute Director Mesut Gökten and DeltaV Space General Manager Arif Karabeyoğlu were present at the signing ceremony.

EVALUATION PROCESS FOR EXPERIMENTS CONTINUES

The nomination process for the Turkish Space Traveler project, which was initiated within the scope of the National Space Program prepared by TUA, continues under the technical leadership of TÜBİTAK UZAY.

A technical committee is currently evaluating experiment proposals from universities and research institutions for research to be conducted in Earth orbit in zero gravity.

AXIOM SPACE'S ACTIVITIES

Axiom Space is the only full-service orbital mission provider in the commercial space industry, providing end-to-end crewed missions. Axiom's range of services includes training and flying space travelers, access to training facilitators and instructors, hardware and safety certification, and operational management in orbit. To prepare for living and working in space, prospective space travelers must complete Axiom's months-long training curriculum.

Meanwhile, Axiom Space signed agreements for manned missions with Italy, Hungary and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in addition to Turkey at the congress in France.
