PIU
(Payload Interface Unit)
PIU is a reliable interface unit that can be adapted to different satellite platforms (e.g. micro satellite). Thanks to its smart unit, cost-effective material diversity, and modular unit structure, it can meet various digital and analog interface needs.
PIU provides the following features to the satellite flight segment:
- Smart unit and peripheral components for payload software
- TM-TC services and interfaces for imaging and scientific payloads
- Controlling and monitoring of payloads via CAN, RS-422/RS-485, Spacewire and LVDS data buses.
- Failure tolerant architecture based on redundancy and hardware protection
