TÜBİTAK UZAY delegation consisting of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Lokman Kuzu, Director of TÜBİTAK UZAY Technologies Research Institute, Dr. Erdal Yılmaz, Deputy Director of the Institute, Aziz Koru, Business Development Group Leader Expert Researcher, Dr. Egemen İmre, Lead Expert Researcher from the Systems Engineering Group, Mustafa Teke, Expert Researcher from the Remote Sensing Group, and Ferid Gülmehmet, Expert Researcher from the Orbit and Flight Control Group. Egemen İmre from the Systems Engineering Group, Expert Researcher Mustafa Teke from the Remote Sensing Group and Expert Researcher Ferid Gülmehmet from the Orbit and Flight Control Group, TÜBİTAK UZAY delegation held meetings with the institutions and organizations that carry out and support earth observation activities in Azerbaijan within the scope of the EOPOWER EU 7th ESP project on 19-20 May 2015.
On May 19, 2015, during the visit to the Science Support Fund (SDF) under the Presidency of the Republic of Azerbaijan, information about TÜBİTAK and TÜBİTAK UZAY was given and information about the R&D supports provided by SDF was received.
On May 20, 2015, at the meeting held at Azerbaijan's Satellite Operator Azercosmos, the Director of the Institute, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Lokman Kuzu, made a general presentation on TÜBİTAK UZAY. Following the information about international organizations in the field of Earth Observation, presentations were made about the activities carried out at TÜBİTAK UZAY in the field of Earth Observation and our projects in the field of satellite-space. The live demonstration of the passage of the RASAT satellite, satellite operations and our work on remote sensing were explained in detail to Azerbaijan Cosmos employees.
During the visits and meetings, the intention to develop cooperation in the field of space was expressed and it was decided to immediately start work on cooperation in the field of education and the development of joint projects.
