TÜBİTAK UZAY and TÜRKSAT Inc. signed an important cooperation protocol in order to accelerate development of Türkiye in satellite and space technologies and increase its international competitiveness. This protocol covers cooperation in the fields of satellite technologies, communication systems and space research.
The protocol, which was made official at a special ceremony held at SAHA EXPO on October 22, 2024, was signed by TÜBİTAK President Prof. Dr. Orhan Aydın on behalf of TÜBİTAK and by TÜRKSAT Inc. General Manager Ahmet Hamdi Atalay on behalf of TÜRKSAT
At the ceremony, TÜBİTAK UZAY Institute Director Mehmet Nefes provided information about the details of the protocol and common goals. Nefes emphasized that this protocol represents a critical step taken to strengthen the competencies of Türkiye in satellite and space technologies and to pioneer new projects.
This cooperation protocol, which will enable satellite and space projects of Türkiye to be carried forward, will reduce Türkiye external dependency in space technologies with projects to be developed within the scope of TÜBİTAK UZAY and TÜRKSAT A.Ş., while pioneering the use of indigenously produced systems.
