Türkiye’s largest science and technology festival, TEKNOFEST 2025, welcomed hundreds of thousands of visitors at Istanbul Atatürk Airport from 17–21 September. Over five exciting days, the festival showcased Türkiye’s innovative strength in aviation, space, and technology, while TÜBİTAK UZAY presented its cutting-edge projects to the public.
Throughout the festival, thousands of science and space enthusiasts had the chance to explore Türkiye’s journey into space. Visitors to our booth learned in detail about our landmark projects: TÜRKSAT 6A, the first national communications satellite; İMECE, the sub-meter-resolution Earth-observation satellite; and the ambitious Lunar Research Program, one of Türkiye’s most comprehensive space initiatives.
Guests didn’t just gather information—they also joined hands-on workshops. The Satellite Model Workshops, featuring models of TÜRKSAT 6A, İMECE, and the Lunar Research Program spacecraft, attracted participants of all ages and turned their fascination with space into an engaging, memorable experience.
Another popular highlight was the Space Traveler Game, where participants used body movements to navigate a virtual space journey and left with a keepsake photo from their adventure. The Lunar Mission Game offered an interactive exploration of Türkiye’s lunar objectives, allowing visitors to follow each orbital phase step by step.
Our booth also drew international attention. We were honored to welcome Indonesia’s Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita, NASA engineer Dr. Kimberly Robinson, and representatives from many other countries—including Thailand, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and Ukraine—sharing our projects and exploring potential avenues for collaboration.
TEKNOFEST 2025 not only highlighted Türkiye’s scientific and technological progress but also demonstrated the growing public interest in space exploration. The remarkable attention to our booth once again confirmed the increasing curiosity and enthusiasm for space and science across Türkiye.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to all visitors and partners who contributed to making this event a success.
