We participated in the Space Technology Conference 2025 (STC 2025), held on April 24–25 in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan. As one of the leading space and satellite technology events in Central Eurasia, STC 2025 provided a significant platform that brought together public institutions, private sector representatives, and international stakeholders from across the region to foster industry collaboration.
Throughout the conference, under the leadership of our Institute Director Mehmet Nefes, the TÜBİTAK UZAY delegation held bilateral meetings with numerous international companies from various countries. These meetings aimed not only to deepen existing collaborations but also to lay the groundwork for new strategic partnerships. These engagements, which expanded TÜBİTAK UZAY's international network, also supported Türkiye’s vision of sharing its scientific and technological expertise in space on a global scale.
One of the major developments of the event was the signing of a “Memorandum of Understanding” between TÜBİTAK UZAY and Azercosmos, Azerbaijan’s national space agency. This agreement between the two brother countries’ institutions will foster comprehensive cooperation in satellite technologies, remote sensing, satellite image utilization, and human resource development.
During the session titled "Collaboration, Innovation & Investment Driving the Space Industry", our Deputy Director Bülent Avenoğlu shared our institution’s activities and approach to international cooperation with the participants. In addition, Tuva Cihangir Atasever, Türkiye’s second astronaut and a researcher in the field of microgravity studies, introduced our country’s capabilities in space technologies on the international stage during the session titled "New Space: The Innovations Revolutionising Access to Space Technologies."
The strategic meeting ground provided by STC 2025 was seen as a valuable opportunity for strengthening global collaborations. As a key player in Türkiye’s space vision, TÜBİTAK UZAY remains committed to contributing to this vision and advancing its efforts on the international stage.
