We participated in the Space Technology Conference 2025 (STC 2025) held in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, on April 24-25. STC 2025, one of the leading space and satellite technology events in Central Eurasia, brought together public institutions, private sector representatives and international actors in the region, providing an important platform to encourage sectoral cooperation.
During the conference, the TÜBİTAK UZAY delegation, led by our Institute Director Mehmet Nefes, held bilateral meetings with many international companies from different countries. Within the scope of these meetings, while aiming to further deepen existing collaborations, the foundations of new strategic partnerships were also laid. These contacts, which expanded TÜBİTAK UZAY's international network, also supported Turkey's vision of sharing its scientific and technological know-how in the field of space at the global level.
One of the important developments within the scope of the event was the "Memorandum of Understanding" signed between Azerbaijan's national space agency Azercosmos and TÜBİTAK UZAY. With this agreement signed between the institutions of the two brotherly countries, a comprehensive cooperation will be developed in the fields of satellite technologies, remote sensing, the use of satellite images and the development of human resources.
In the session titled "Collaboration, Innovation & Investment Driving the Space Industry" held at STC 2025, our Deputy Director Bülent Avenoğlu shared our organization's activities and our approach to international cooperation with the participants. In addition, Tuva Cihangir Atasever, Turkey's second astronaut and a researcher in the field of microgravity research, presented Turkey's competencies in the field of space technologies in the international arena in the session titled "New Space: The Innovations Revolutionising Access to Space Technologies".
While the strategic meeting ground offered by STC 2025 is considered as an important opportunity for the organization to strengthen its collaborations on a global scale, TÜBİTAK UZAY, which is an important actor in Turkey's space vision, continues to contribute to Turkey's space vision and work in the international arena.
