On May 14, 2024, a delegation from Gabon General Directorate of Scientific Research visited TÜBİTAK Space Technologies Research Institute. Within the scope of the visit, a short tour of the Institute's infrastructures was organized. Afterwards, a meeting was held with M. Mehmet Nefes, Institute Director of TÜBİTAK UZAY, and an introductory presentation about the Institute was made by the Business Development and External Relations Group.

During the visit, detailed information was provided about the Institute's fields of activity and the projects carried out, and questions about space satellite studies were answered. The Gabonese delegation expressed their appreciation for Turkey's level of development in the field of science and technology and stated that they would benefit from Turkey's experience in the field of space.

At the end of the meeting, it was assessed that interaction and coordination between the two countries could be ensured.
