TUBITAK UZAY Optical Systems Research Laboratory (OPMER) was established to develop and produce precision optical components needed in many different fields, especially in satellite technologies, within national capabilities and capabilities. The production and metrology systems used in shaping high quality optical components that are critical for state-of-the-art space and defense applications, meeting surface finishing requirements, increasing surface form precision, reflective, anti-reflective, etc. coating processes have been included in the infrastructure.

The laboratory covers a total area of 840 m2 and is divided into a production and metrology section with 435 m2 of controlled area, a coating and micro-patterning section with 135 m2 of 100 and 1000 class clean area and an integration section with 270 m2 of clean area.
