Dr. Sadık Murat YÜKSEL
Deputy Director of the Institute (Technical Research, Design and Systems)

Dr. Sadık Murat YÜKSEL earned his bachelor’s (1995) and master’s (1999) degrees from the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Middle East Technical University. He received his Ph.D. (2015) in Technology Management from the Defense Sciences Institute of the Turkish Military Academy.
Beginning his career at the TÜBİTAK Defense Industries Research and Development Institute (TÜBİTAK SAGE) in 1996, he served as a Chief Senior Researcher until 2007. He played a key role in establishing the Systems Engineering Unit, institutionalizing the relevant processes within the organization. During this period, he also led mechanical design, certification, systems engineering, and business development efforts for long-range artillery rocket and air-to-ground munition projects.
Joining the TÜBİTAK Space Technologies Research Institute (TÜBİTAK UZAY) in 2007, Dr. YÜKSEL held the positions of Technical Lead and Project Manager for GÖKTÜRK-2, Türkiye’s first national military intelligence satellite. He further took on significant roles in the business development initiatives of the İMECE, TÜRKSAT 6A, GÖKTÜRK-3, and TUGEP projects.
Drawing on over 30 years of experience in the defense and space sectors, he specializes in systems engineering, technology management, mission analysis, and project management. Dr. YÜKSEL currently serves as the Deputy Director of TÜBİTAK UZAY. Born in Ankara in 1972, he is married and has one child.
