The Istanbul Youth Festival, organized for the third time this year, was held at the Eurasia Show Center. The event, which took place between May 2-7, 2018 and is the largest youth festival in Turkey, attracted great interest.
Within the scope of the festival, in the section reserved for TEKNOFEST, which aims to increase the interest in technology in the society and to raise awareness about Turkey's transformation into a society that produces national technology, TÜBİTAK Science and Society, SAGE, UME and TÜBİTAK UZAY took place alongside various institutions and organizations and informed visitors about their products and activities. The RASAT and GÖKTÜRK 2 satellite models exhibited at our Institute's stand attracted great interest from visitors. Our stand was visited by many participants, including Dr. Faruk Özlü, Minister of Science, Industry and Technology; Prof. Dr. Hasan Mandal, President of TÜBİTAK; Berat Albayrak, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources; and Bilal Erdoğan, Chairman of the Advisory Board of the Istanbul Youth Festival.
Bilal Erdoğan, Chairman of the Advisory Board of the Istanbul Youth Festival, and Berat Albayrak, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, who showed great interest in our work, were informed about the stages of the IMECE and TÜRKSAT 6A Satellite Projects led by our Institute. Minister Albayrak expressed his great happiness that the TÜRKSAT 6A Satellite will start its mission in space long before 2023 and conveyed his greetings and love to the researchers of our Institute.
Necmi Demir, Corporate Communications Group Leader, and Merve Özek Ekinci, Assistant Specialist, represented our Institute during the event.
