The APSCO TUBITAK UZAY Space Law Training, organized by the Asia-Pacific Space Cooperation Organization (APSCO), an international organization aiming cooperation in the field of space and where our country is represented by TÜBİTAK UZAY, and by TÜBİTAK UZAY with the support of the UN Office for Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA), was held in Istanbul between 18-21 September 2019.
The training, which was held at Istanbul Technical University Süleyman Demirel Cultural Center, was attended by delegates from APSCO and ISNET member countries as well as representatives of relevant institutions from our country. The opening speeches were delivered by Dr. Mohammad Ebrahimi Seyedabadi, Director General of the Training Department on behalf of APSCO and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Lokman Kuzu, Director of our Institute on behalf of TÜBİTAK UZAY. During the training, Dr. Medeni Soysal (TÜBİTAK UZAY), Dr. Yukiko Okumura (UNOOSA), Dr. Merve Erdem Burger (Ankara University), Prof. Dr. Steven Freeland (Westen Sydney University), Prof. Dr. Armel Kerrest (University of Western Brittany), Assoc. Prof. Tanja Masson-Zwaan (Leiden University), Dr. Kuan-Wei Chen (McGill University), Assoc. Prof. Gérardine Goh Escolar (National University of Singapore) and Niklas Hedman, Chief of the UNOOSA Committee, Policy and Legal Affairs Division. The lectures and subsequent discussions were carefully followed by an international audience of approximately 50 participants, and the interactive lectures were highly appreciated by the participants.
