Second Phase of HASSAS Project

The protocol for the Second Phase of the Project for the Dissemination of Precision Agriculture and Sustainable Practices in the GAP Region (HASSAS-2) was signed at the signing ceremony held at TÜBİTAK UZAY on 13 December 2017. Sadrettin Karahocagil, President of GAP Regional Development Administration of the Ministry of Development on behalf of GAP, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Lokman Kuzu, Director of the Institute on behalf of TÜBİTAK UZAY signed the protocol.

The HASSAS Project started on December 12, 2014 and the first phase of the Project was accepted on November 22, 2017. In the first phase, various methods for precision agriculture practices were successfully tested and the second phase of the Project aimed to disseminate the outputs obtained in the first phase.

Throughout the project, automatic fertilization applications will be carried out by analyzing fertilizer needs with algorithms to be developed using satellite and UAV images in selected areas in the Harran Plain. Analyses will be carried out on increasing yield by reducing input costs with combine harvester yield measurements.
