We Participated in "Satellite, Space and Technology Days"

"Satellite, Space and Technology Days" was held on December 11-12, 2015 at the Haliç Congress Center in Istanbul, under the leadership of TÜRKSAT and MÜSİAD. Institutions and organizations such as the Turkish Ministry of Economy, the Turkish Ministry of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications, SSM, TÜRKSAT, MÜSİAD, TÜBİTAK and Anadolu Agency took part in the event as strategic partners.

The event was opened by Binali Yıldırım, Minister of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications; Fikri Işık, Minister of Science, Industry and Technology; Akif Çağatay Kılıç, Minister of Youth and Sports; Nail Olpak, President of MÜSİAD; and Prof. Dr. Ensar Gül, General Manager of TÜRKSAT A.Ş. Prof. Dr. A. Arif Ergin, President of TÜBİTAK and Assoc. Dr. Lokman Kuz, Director of TÜBİTAK Space Technologies Research Institute were also present at the opening ceremony.

The future of satellite and information technologies in Turkey was discussed and debated under topics such as public, industrial and technological perspectives on satellite technology and satellite ecosystem in Turkey, national satellite project, IT projects, public IT project presentations, municipal services on e-Government Gateway, 4.5G technologies and 5G vision, Turkey and regional positioning systems, 4K and broadcasting technologies. More than 20 panels, seminars and conferences were held simultaneously in 8 meeting rooms over two days.

Prof. Dr. A. Arif Ergin, President of TÜBİTAK, gave a speech at the panel "Strategic Management of Patents in Innovative Companies"; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Lokman Kuzu, Director of the Space Technologies Research Institute, gave a speech at the panel "Satellite and Ecosystem: Industry and Technology Perspective", and Dr. Sadık Murat Yüksel, TUBITAK Space Business Development Group Leader, gave speeches at the "National Satellite Project" panels.

The event, which brought together all stakeholders in the field of satellite and space technologies, was attended by 87 technology companies. Nearly 10 thousand participants visited the program, which included companies and speakers from countries such as Japan, the USA, the UK, Afghanistan, Poland, Sweden, the Netherlands and Azerbaijan.

At the stand opened by TÜBİTAK Space Technologies Research Institute, models of RASAT and GÖKTÜRK2 satellites were exhibited and participants were informed about our satellites. Brochures and magazines introducing TÜBİTAK and Space were presented to the participants visiting the stand. Necmi Demir and Merve Özek from the Corporate Communication Group, Rasim Özcan from the Project Management Support Group and Dr. Ufuk Sakarya from the Remote Sensing Group were present at the stand we opened within the scope of the event.
