TÜBİTAK UZAY has taken another strategic step within the scope of Turkey's Lunar Mission, cooperating with Poloptech for the development of a wide-angle camera system. This cooperation became official with a special ceremony held at SAHA EXPO on October 22, 2024.
The contract for the wide-angle camera system, one of the most important components of the Lunar Mission, was signed by TÜBİTAK President Prof. Dr. Orhan Aydın and Poloptech CEO Şimşek Tekerek. TÜBİTAK UZAY Institute Director Mehmet Nefes and Poloptech CTO Özgür Selimoğlu also attended the ceremony.
The wide-angle camera system to be developed through this collaboration stands out as a critical technology to be used in Turkey's space missions. TÜBİTAK UZAY aims to provide more detailed and high-resolution imaging of the lunar surface with this technology.
The wide-angle camera system will make a significant contribution to the technical infrastructure of the Lunar Mission and will allow a detailed examination of the lunar surface. This system will be of great importance for both scientific research and future space exploration.
While the project once again demonstrates TÜBİTAK UZAY's technological competence at national and international level, it draws attention as an important step towards Turkey's space goals.
