TÜBİTAK UZAY received CMMI (Capability Maturity Model Integration) Level 3 Certificate within the scope of Image Processing and Communication Systems projects.

CMMI audits were successfully completed for TÜBİTAK UZAY Image Processing and Communication Systems Projects. In the audit conducted by Chief Auditor Channaveer Patil, the institute received the Maturity Level 3 Certificate.

TÜBİTAK UZAY reviewed its quality system covering 17 Process Areas (3 Process Management Processes, 4 Project Management Processes, 6 Engineering Processes and 4 Support Processes) within 6 months and made it ready for the audit by providing the necessary updates in the CMMI Level 3 maturity level certification studies carried out to increase the quality of the products and services it produces and its corporate capabilities. At the end of the successful audit process, TÜBİTAK UZAY quality was once again certified.

The CMMI certification, which was introduced through the work of the US Government and Carnegie Mellon University, also provides the opportunity to bid for international military projects, particularly in the US and NATO countries.

TÜBİTAK Space Technologies Research Institute has become the pride of Turkey by coming to the agenda with many groundbreaking projects.

- RASAT, the first earth observation satellite designed and built in Turkey, was launched into space in 2011.

- BALİSTİKA, the first indigenous system that analyzes ballistic traces in bullet cores and casings, was put into use by the Turkish National Police in 2012.

- The first export of the BALISTIKA system was realized to Saudi Arabia in 2012.

- GÖKTÜRK-2, the first indigenously built high-resolution reconnaissance and surveillance satellite, was launched into space in 2012.
