As TÜBİTAK UZAY, we shared the enthusiasm of TEKNOFEST

The second "Aviation, Space and Technology Festival (TEKNOFEST)", of which TÜBİTAK is one of the stakeholders, was held at Atatürk Airport on September 17-22, 2019.

As TÜBİTAK Space Technologies Research Institute, our products were promoted with GÖKTÜRK-2 and RASAT Satellite models in a 25 m2 booth area. In addition, as TÜBİTAK UZAY, promotional activities were carried out at the Turkish Space Agency stand.

During the six-day festival, TÜBİTAK hosted many participants from students and citizens, including Mustafa Şentop, Speaker of the Turkish Grand National Assembly; Fuat Oktay, Vice President; Mustafa Varank, Minister of Industry and Technology; Ziya Selçuk, Minister of National Education; Mehmet Fatih Kacır, Deputy Minister of Industry and Technology; Haluk Bayraktar, Chairman of the Board of Directors of T3 Foundation; Selçuk Bayraktar, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of T3 Foundation.

The TÜBİTAK Virtual Reality (VR) Tunnel concept was also realized at TEKNOFEST for the first time this year. The event aimed especially for children and young people to experience the work of TÜBİTAK Central Presidency and Institutes in an interactive and entertaining way.

Movie screenings were held at the Planetarium for participants from different age groups and educational levels. In collaboration with TÜBİTAK UZAY and the Turkish Technology Team, educational films titled "Astronaut" and "The Discovery of Space and the Birth of Technology" were screened at half-hour intervals at the Planetarium (Planetarium). The number of visitors to the Planetarium during the festival was 3600 people on the 1st day, 4000 people on the 2nd day, 5400 people on the 3rd day, 1300 people on the 4th day, 5800 people on the 5th day and 6200 people on the 6th day. While approximately 5000 people were screened last year, this year it reached a total of 26300 people.

Organized under the leadership of T3 Foundation and the Ministry of Industry and Technology, TEKNOFEST Istanbul Aviation, Space and Technology Festival (TEKNOFEST Istanbul), Turkey's largest technology event organized by T3 Foundation and the Ministry of Industry and Technology, with TÜBİTAK among its stakeholders, hosted 1 million 720 thousand people in 6 days.
