Data Valorization Applications

Our organization has extensive knowledge and high-level expertise in the field of data valorization applications. Our competencies include satellite image leveling, calibration, semantic image analysis, image matching, 3D imaging, pattern and object recognition, high performance computing and 3D visualization. With each new application and R&D activities, these competencies are increasing day by day.

Earth Observation Data Processing

The leveling of images, absolute radiometric and geometric calibration studies for RASAT, GÖKTÜRK-2 and İMECE imaging satellites developed by TÜBİTAK UZAY are carried out within this scope. Using the algorithms developed for these satellites, a general purpose Data Valorization Software (VKY) was developed.

In addition, analyses utilizing state-of-the-art earth observation data are carried out to support Turkey's sustainable economic and social development.

BALISTICA®

BALISTICA®is a user-friendly, scalable, 3-D data acquisition and utilization system with high matching performance, running on a relational database that links bullet cores and casings, weapons, occurrence frequencies, and individuals.

Semantic Video Analysis

Conceptual Video Analytics is a field that enables the extraction of meaningful information from video content through computer vision and multimedia analysis.

Satellite Image Portal

After the launch of earth observation satellites, image portals are created to deliver the downloaded raw satellite images to the end user, which perform the following functions. Images from this portal:

  • Geometric calibration
  • Absolute and relative radiometric calibration
  • Mosaicing
  • Online presentation (structuring the images in the database, entering metadata, cataloging, query interface, etc.) is performed.

After the launch of the RASAT Satellite, the Geoportal Project, which was developed to perform the functions mentioned above, was awarded the Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) Level 3 certification, the most widely accepted and applied process improvement approach worldwide.

TÜBİTAK UZAY, within the scope of Geoportal Project, GEZGİN portal (www.gezgin.gov.tr) has been developed to share images obtained from observation satellites on the internet.
