SAHA EXPO 2024, which was held at the Istanbul Expo Center between 22-26 October 2024, brought together important representatives of the defence, aerospace and space industry this year. As TÜBİTAK UZAY, we took our place in this event and introduced our projects and products in the field of satellite and space technologies.
During the exhibition, we exhibited mock-ups of our IMECE and TÜRKSAT 6A projects and provided visitors with detailed information about these projects. We also introduced our critical technologies such as Reaction Wheels, Star Tracks, Solar Detector, Power Regulation Unit, Electric Propulsion System and Steerable Antenna among our satellite equipment. TÜBİTAK UZAY stand attracted great interest from visitors who wanted to closely examine our technological products, and visitors had the opportunity to share their questions directly with our experts. "BALISTIKA", the ballistic examination system developed by TÜBİTAK UZAY, was one of our products that attracted interest at the exhibition. Visitors were provided with comprehensive information about the system's features and areas of use.
At our booth, we organized two signing ceremonies with the presence of M. Fatih Kacır, Minister of Industry and Technology. One of these was the cooperation protocol signed between TÜBİTAK UZAY and TÜRKSAT in the field of satellite and space technologies. This agreement aims to strengthen Turkey's joint efforts in domestic and national satellite projects. Immediately afterwards, a Wide Angle Camera Contract was signed between TÜBİTAK UZAY and Poloptech as part of Turkey's Lunar Mission. This contract constitutes an important step for a critical technology to be used in the lunar mission.
At the booth we opened in the Turkey Pavilion, we shared information about our optical systems and general satellite projects and conveyed our country's capabilities in the field of space to the visitors. In the Space Talks area of the Pavilion, Cevher Levent Ertürk, TÜRKSAT 6A Project Manager, made a presentation on the development process and current status of TÜRKSAT 6A, Turkey's first indigenous communication satellite.
During the event, Mehmet Nefes, Director of our Institute, took part in a panel discussion on innovations and cooperation opportunities in the field of space technologies. Nefes gave important messages on the steps Turkey has taken in its space journey and our vision for the future.
During SAHA EXPO, we had the opportunity to hold productive meetings with many local and foreign companies on cooperation opportunities and took positive steps towards technological collaborations.
As TÜBİTAK UZAY, we would like to thank all visitors for the great interest shown to our stand and hope to meet again in future collaborations.
