Sultan Qaboos University (SQU), one of Oman’s leading higher education institutions, visited the TÜBİTAK Space Technologies Research Institute (TÜBİTAK UZAY) on July 22, 2026.
The delegation, which included Prof. Dr. Amer Saif Al-Hinai, SQU Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Postgraduate Studies and Research, and Dr. Adil Said Al-Busaidi, Director of the Innovation and Technology Centre, was accompanied by Prof. Dr. Bahadır Tunaboylu, CEO of Marmara Innovation R&D Technology Transfer Inc.
Hosted by our Institute Deputy Director Bülent Avenoğlu, the delegation received an institutional presentation from Dr. Erdinç Mermer of the Business Development and External Relations Group.
The discussions focused on capacity-building and technology transfer collaborations in the field of space technologies. Additionally, potential partnerships tailored to Oman’s regional needs and academic infrastructure were evaluated.
Following the meetings, an on-site tour of the TÜBİTAK UZAY facilities was conducted with the guest delegation.
We anticipate that this visit will lay the groundwork for future technology-oriented collaborations between the two institutions.
