"World GIS Day", which is celebrated all over the world in November to raise awareness on Geographic Information Systems, was held at Ankara Congresium ATO International Convention and Exhibition Center between November 30 and December 1, 2017 with the theme of "Smart Cities, the Living Space of the Information Society".
TÜBİTAK UZAY Technologies Research Institute Assoc. Prof. Dr. Lokman Kuzu, who is also a member of the Organizing Committee, attended the event with a booth opened by TÜBİTAK UZAY. Minister of Environment and Urbanization Mehmet Özhaseki also visited the booth where RASAT and GÖKTÜRK 2 satellite models were exhibited, and the return issues of popular science magazines published by TÜBİTAK were presented to the visitors. Information was provided about the satellite projects previously realized under the leadership of TÜBİTAK UZAY and the İMECE and TÜRKSAT 6A projects currently being worked on. The TÜBİTAK UZAY booth, which attracted an intense flow of visitors, was instrumental in raising awareness about the awareness of both TÜBİTAK and TÜBİTAK UZAY.
